GPS Aided Geo Augmented Navigation (GAGAN)

✦ GAGAN is a Space Based Augmentation System (SBAS) jointly developed by ISRO and Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the Indian airspace.

✦ It aims to meet the navigation requirements of civil aviation.

✦ GAGAN system is inter-operable with other international SBAS systems like US WAAS, European EGNOS, Japanese MSAS etc.

✦ GAGAN corrects for GPS signal errors caused by Ionospheric disturbances, timing and satellite orbit errors.
